Who is the Melbourne Food Squad?


The Melbourne Food Squad is an initiative started by a group of Melbourne wholesale food specialists with the aim to deliver high, restaurant quality produce to homes cross Melbourne. Your fish will be the same quality used at iconic seaside venues across the Mornington Penninsula, your fresh Meat will be the same quality used by Melbourne's hottest Chefs working in premium Steakhouses. Our aim is to support those that need it most, the producers, the farmers, the fishermen & the bakers. those that need it most




Product Range


The product range will evolve daily & weekly depending on seasonailty & supply. Trust us like our chefs do, and you will keep coming back for more. The quality of our Seafood can not be found in the supermarkets, and the range will continue to grow. Our Meats are hand selected & we provide the best cuts around. Check out our smaller artisan producers for that something extra special. We thank you again for supporting small Victorian business.




How will it get to my home?


Our suppliers have hundreds of trucks servicing all parts of Victoria. State of the art refrigerated vehicles that will get your produce there in good shape. We offer a no contact service. Our drivers will place your boxes at the door, ring the bell & then leave your premises.




Safe storage & handling of  fresh food products


The fresh food suppliers featured on our site operate a little differently from your regular guys in the supermarkets. Nothing is produced in a mega-factory that churns out tonnes of processed food with additives and the like. Here's a simple yet effective guide in ensuring your food lasts a long time. MEAT & CHICKEN Our Butchers deal in large volume yet bespoke fresh products. All their products are labelled with a "packed on" date which covers their obligations to the restaurant trade. As a rule of thumb, all fresh meat & chicken products have a shelf life of 6 days providing they are kept chilled at the appropriate temperature of 5c or below. If you have made a large purchase, we recommend ou freeze down your fresh meats and work from the freezer aftyer that. Just like your local butcher down the road usually doesnt provide a use-by date label, neither do our guys. SEAFOOD We have an extensive range of frozen product on offer. All pre packed seafood have useby labels attached. Fresh Seafood is very much like the Red Meat category, although this time our fishmongers have all the necessary labelling you might need. FRUIT & VEG Our fruit & veg guys tell us the best place to store your produce is in an area between 2-4c, and that should give you approx 6-7 days shelf life.




Placing Orders & Cut off times


We are tryng to keep our website as easy as 1,2,3. Orders placed before 10 am will be delivered the following day, otherwise you can expect it to arrive the day after that. In store pick ups are also available. they will be ready for you to pick up after 10am the following day. Please note: We close at 3pm! We are delivering across Melbourne - TUESDAY'S, WEDNESDAY'S, THURSDAY'S, FRIDAY'S & SATURDAY'S Please note: Orders placed after 10am on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday (before 10am) will be delivered on a Tuesday




How much is Delivery?


Delivery is FREE for all orders over $150. We charge a small fee of $14 for orders under $150. This covers our drivers wages, etag charges and genreal running costs




Our Delivery areas


We deliver to all Melbourne Metro areas, including the Yarra Valley, Mornington Penninsula, Casey/Cardinia, Bayside, CBD, Northern & Western Suburbs




When are the Chefs Boxes available?


Chefs Boxes are only delivered on Fridays. Orders MUST be placed by Wednesday 10am
